Michele Bednarick lives in North Kingstown, RI and has a B.A. in Computer Science from Rutgers University, with a minor in Archaeology. For 14 years, she was the System Programmer for a medical distributor's asset tracking system. Michele developed this system from the ground up and implemented many custom modifications over the years. The system was non-web based and was retired in March, 2009.
Michele is a member of the North Kingstown Arts Council. She designed the Arts Council's website and currently maintains it. She also creates flyers and brochures to promote the council's many events.
Michele also volunteers at the North Kingstown schools her daughter & son attend. At her son's school, she creates flyers for many PTO events and is a co-chair of the school's after-school program. Duties for this include creating a brochure of classes and developing Excel spreadsheets to track the program's class registrations and finances. At her daughter's school, she completed a major overhaul of the school's website and currently maintains several of its webpages.
Recent Awards
For the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 school years, Michele received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for volunteering 100 hours or more in the North Kingstown school system.
In 2010, Michele received the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce Volunteer Recognition Award for her work with the North Kingstown Arts Council's website.
In 2011, Michele won the NK Patch Blizzard Photo contest with 'Snowshoe Snowman.'
