6 Weeks PBC! (Post-Body Cast)

It'll be 6 weeks on Friday since Jack's been out of his spica cast.  These 6 weeks flew by, as opposed to the previous 6 weeks.  It's also been exactly 3 months since the surgery.  We are extremely glad that is all behind us.  Jack has a follow up appt. on Friday with the orthopedic doctor.  We're hoping for a green light for a good summer.  I'll post an update on Friday.

On a side note, I am reading the 3rd Harry Potter book to Jack.  Last night, Harry, Ron and Hermione were having Steak and Kidney Pie for dinner.  When Jack heard that, he said, 'Ewwwwww.  That sounds almost as gross as the things you make.'  I suppose that means I should stick to graphic arts, rather than culinary arts...

How Cool is This?!?

A little while ago, Amanda bought a book from her book fair, Fact Attack! that Jack loved.  I posted on this blog his favorite entries and the author, Max Brallier, picked up on the post.  It turns out he's a Steeler fan, like us, and he emailed Jack and they talked Steelers!  Then he sent 2 of his other books, Toilet Trivia and The All-Star Bathroom Sampler, complete with autographs!  The Bathroom Sampler has all kinds of lists and stories about sports, which Jack is LOVING.

Big sister Amanda picked out a great book from her school book fair for Jack - Fact Attack!  by Max Brallier.  Here's something cool, called Calculator Magic (remember to press '=' between each step):

1. Take the number of the month you were born
2. Multiply it by 4
3. Add 13
4. Multiply by 25
5. Subtract 200
6. Add the day of the month on which you were born
7. Multiply by 2
8. Subtract 40
9. Multiply by 50
10. Add the last 2 digits of the year in which you were born
11. Subtract 10,500

What do you get?  Recognize the number?  Weird, huh?!?

Stuff to Do...

...when you're Bored out of your Mind, by Jack:

#1: Write a Book.  If you’re bored, sit down and write a book about anything you want. Something you like to do, or maybe just a fantasy.

 

#2: Invent a Sport.  When you’re bored, invent a new sport like: hit a baseball into a tree and then you have to find the cat in 15 seconds.

Day 57

Full day:  errands and the library in the morning, swimming at the pool club in the afternoon, traction in-between, and a Jack-mobile obstacle course at the park up the street after dinner.
